lol ,noIm pritty sure its a sucky oneget one arround 80$PSU are very underrated, but they are very important
you dont have to spend $80. what kind of system are you hoping to power? in other words, give us your specs. If you just want to power a basic PC with basic everything and no GFX card, you're gonna have to spend at least 30$. if you want to power a high end gaming platform, you might have to spend 80$.
i have a Geforce 6800GT, 1gb ram and P4 2.0GHz CPU.
i have a Geforce 6800GT, 1gb ram and P4 2.0GHz CPU.
I dont think you need to big of a PSU. you might be able to get away with a $50 dollar PSU. someone with knowledge, correct me if im wronghttp://e3wwwtest.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104953 I think you can get away with that PSU, but I dont think it has too much room for upgrade
Anything above 400W and below $50 is probably gonna die out on you.
Anything above 400W and below $50 is probably gonna die out on you.
even an FSP group?
I once had a 400W PSU for @40, and yep, died in three months.
Never go cheap on the PSU. You can go cheap to some degree on every other part in a PC, but a PSU that's too cheap can end up turning your hundreds of dollars worth of electronic equipment into a giant paperweight. Buy good first, cheap second.

I could understand a high enddual,possibly quadcore system, but a 2.0 Ghz P4?
I found this one from thermaltakeits not too big, butit should power that system right?

I never said anything about spending $100 or mkore on a PSU. I said when it comes to power supplies, you should buy good first, cheap second. You can buy good PSUs quite cheaply, but you should never prioritize price over quality. If you need to spend a little more for a good, reliable PSU, then I suggest you do it.

For that system? Nothing too big, unless the OP wants some future expandability. What you suggested are both strong choices, but the amps on the V12 rails are just a little low (18A). I would suggest 20A+.

That Thermaltake TR2 430W sucks compared to the FSP Group 400W.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104953
