owest end, seriously dont get it, i have a geforce 5500 and its a nightmare to play games. I downloaded the GRAW 2 demo and i couldn't even play at 6FPS. trust ne just get a 7600 GT AGP card no point in the geforce 5xxx series.

The real fact is that none of the nVidia FXes have a native Dx9 SM 2 pixel shader function. Instead, nVidia used a totally independent version that skipped past the SM 2 and SM 3 prescribed functions in Direct3D. They expected game developers to choose their version, not Microsoft's, but no one did so. The special version they included is terribly slow running SM2, and has no SM 3 capability at all. At the end of the retail availability, batches of ten FX 5200s were available for wholesale overstock cost on eBay as low as $180, with the shipping, $18 each, which tells you how terrible they were.
