Why bother? The machine you have now is excellent, there's no need to upgrade for a jolly long time. At best a bigger hard drive or something.
When should i upgrade theni want to play all the great new games?? Oh yeh i plan to get a 500 gig hdd but i dont want to lose my files grr!!!
Thats a great rig! Wait for the Phenoms to come out then get a new mobo / cpu cause C2D quads are just two C2D put together they arent native! The Phenom X4's are gonna be the first native quad cores.

At the very earliest when Vista 64 bit becomes a stable operating system, or whenever you can't play games on high, or nearly on high. Personally, I think you can wait for PCI-e 2.0 to start becoming major, DDR3 to be close to the new standard, and possibly for solid-state drives to start becoming an enthusiast solution.
