why are macs better than pc?

I posted a similar question about a week ago, but im still wonderingEverywhere I go, there are people telling me to get a mac instead of a pc, that they can do everything a pc can do, just better, why are macs so great? what can they do that a pc cant? why are macs better than pc?
Their not better. If you plan on gaming, then Mac's are virtually worthless. They might be a little more user friendly, but that comes at a high price.why are macs better than pc?
they're not better. You cant build one for yourself for one, they're not as powerful, and finally, they can only play about 1/10 of the games out there
so pc's are better for games but macs are better for everything else?
so pc's are better for games but macs are better for everything else?
Im not sure, but I love PCs, so I'll say, NO
the only PCs they can compare to are laptops. they're not powerful, they're overpriced, and you cant build one yourself. overall, macs suck:P
Macs are more sophisticated and easier to use, but this is a function of the OS and not the PC itself. The hardware itself is nothing special, nothing a good PC couldn't beat. PCs give you more options, more choices, are cheaper, you can build them yourself. Macs are 100% proprietary, you can only get them from Apple, you can't really tinker with them much. The OS, however, is very slick, very easy to use. For gamers it is not a good choice because most games are made for the PC. There are tons of more PCs out there than Macs, so developers spend most of their time developing for PCs.So why are Mac ''Better'' than PCs? They are not. They are just ''different''.

macs are more expensive but they last 10 times more than normal computer. Macs don't crash often as normal pc can if it's becoming old and stuff. But i'd still go with PC, it's cheaper, it's for games, it's for everything. And it has Cut/Paste command and a 2 button mouse which i like to have

All good points, but I think you avoided the biggest one:Price to performance ratio...
All good points, but I think you avoided the biggest one:Price to performance ratio...
I didn't avoid that one, it was just never brought up - yes, you can generally get a PC of similar specs for a good bit cheaper than you could get a Mac. I'm not going to debate that one, as it generally holds true. If he'd brought that bit up, I would have agreed with him. But since he basically stated three misleading reasons, I felt the need to correct a few of them, as we have very few people here willing to stand up for the Mac, but plenty who will bash them into the dirt despite having very little experience with them.
I avoid Macs mostly because of the man behind them. I hate Stevie Jobs' attitude. Those G3 (and G4 and G5) ''supercomputer'' ads pissed me off so much at the time. At least they've hushed up about that since they've started using PC processors in their products. :|But now that they've stopped that supercomputer BS, they've started putting out those ridiculous ''Mac dude, PC dude'' ads.I know it's kind ofa babyish reason to dislike the product itself, so I'll give you a slightly 'better' one: I've seen the Mac OS running in local computer stores, and to tell you the truth, I just don't see what's so special about it. I don't like the ''single toolbar fits all'' approach, the general incompatibility of the OS, and the Finder isn't better (or worse) than Windows Explorer. Then of course, there's the issue of propriety, expensive hardware.I guess I could live with a Mac notebook (that is, if I ever got over my Steve Jobs issue), but I'd never ever consider a Mac desktop.Macs are not better than PCs, because anything you can do on a Mac you can do on a PC. There was a time when stuff like Photoshop and Premiere could only be run on Macs (back in the days when Macs did use significantly better processors (think PowerPC vs 486), and were pretty much the only consumer machines that had a decent GUI). But those days are long gone.
