Eh, not important as I am still watching the Phenoms like a hunter stalks his prey.... when they pop up on newegg im attacking and hitting it with a buy buton!! Yea!... sorry... lol
Thats nice, but dont leave stupid comments here about ur AM2 fanboism.
Thats nice, but dont leave stupid comments here about ur AM2 fanboism.
just because you are scared amd might come back with a bang, you don't have to be a jerk
Why do people be fanboys over another compeitition is your friend!
Thats nice, but dont leave stupid comments here about ur AM2 fanboism.
Hey im just saying that if you wait and get AM2 it wil be better than C2D....

Thats nice, but dont leave stupid comments here about ur AM2 fanboism.
Hey im just saying that if you wait and get AM2 it wil be better than C2D....
And then Intel will fight back, causing a price break and a drive for AMD to strike again. Isn't it a great syste? Monopolies suck, a solid free market requires good competition.

Well AMD usually comes out with better cpu's. The X2 series was competing with the P-D im pretty sure and the Athlon 64 were against P-4 and look how those turned out :/
Wait, Are these lowering in July?I am building in July and the E6750 is a gold mine at that price. All we need it Nvidia to intorduce the 8900 series and drop the price on the 8800s.

Remember that Penryn is a die shrink of Conroe/Woodcrest/Merom and isn't a new architecture, which puts AMD into more speculation if whether or not they'll be able to beat Core 2.Furthermore, your logic is broken. Buy the inferior product now for a POSSIBILITY of a better product compatability in the future? :S Your motherboard isn't even fully compatible with Barcelona, as it's an AM2 CPU socket not an AM2+ socket. The difference being independent power planes and HyperTransport3 from AM2 (HT2). This is just fanboyism at its finest.

You don't even know if Barcelona will be able to outperform Penryn at 3.33+GHz, and you go and invest for it? Then, what are you going to do when AMD releases faster K10 processors for AM3 only? Also, please explain by what you meant when you said AMD usually designs better CPUs?
Pentium III is a CPU from gods no doubt. But AMD is a good fighter no doubt, it had better CPUs over 2004-2005. And nothing to say about beating one or another, if they had better, they had.Did you know C2D was designed from PIII architecture? That's like a step back and 2 steps forward. Well, AMD isn't doing that, is it? Or was PIII really that wonderfull?
Core 2 Duo was based on Yonah (Core Duo), which was based on Banias/Dothan (Pentium-M), which was based on the P6 (Pentium III) architecture. Not exactly a straight conversion, but it bears some resemblences.Heck, looking back on it now, AMD has no excuse for not releasing K10 by now. They should've been working hard as soon as the Pentium-M arrived on scene. Almost as bad as Intel not doing anything (on desktop/server platforms) regarding NetBurst after the Northwood revision.I was just wondering what LouieV13 mean when he said AMD designs better processors. What kind of 'better'?

Yeah, the original Willamettes were pretty trashy, but Northwood definitely speeded things (pun FTW) for Intel.
