Bought new PC, is it any good?

OOOOOOOOok, i don't know jack about computers. I'm good with them, i know how to use Maya, and all that stuff, but i just bought a computer, and i wanna know if it's any good. I have no idea what info to put on here, but ill give it a try:Processor:AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Dual Core Processor 4800+ 2.5 GHzMemory:2.00 GBI upgraded my power supply as well, its at 500 some wattsUmm...my video card, im not sure what it is....it's a Radeon X1650 series...ATI somethin...and 512 MB. Is that all the info you need to make the assessment, and if so, is it any good?oh, i almost forgot, i bought a samsung 22'' LCD moniter too, contrast ratio is 3000:1, and response time is 2msBought new PC, is it any good?
its good.although thats not the best specs... but its still powerfull enough fr PC gaming (several great game may run smoothly on ur system). another fact, its better than mine :pBought new PC, is it any good?
It was definately a good choice nice CPU and Nice Ram and a Decent GFX Card to boot. You will be able some games at modest settings..
its not new or any thing but,its still nice
Your monitor should be the Smasung Syncmaster 226BW. I have it's little bro, the 206BW (20-inch)and it's great for gaming!!
Yeh that is a badass monitor.. I have the Samsung 23 inch 3000:1 it is pretty nice..

It is fine.. Get Half Life 2 and Battlefield 2 and of course get Counter Strike Source if you like shooters all three of those are godlike
vid card is an easy upgrade, it's probably a x1650xt? if so that's not too bad and afaik it will run every game currently out since it's sm 3.0

it will run excellent on static lighting
Stalker will run pretty good just dont turn high dynamic lighting way up keep it towards the low end if on at all.
it will run maxed out as long as the lighting is set to static.

I'm a PC enthusiast and I'm sorry but that system is O.K, not good or anything. Yes, it's completely fine for working in Maya and product applications, but gaming...I don't think so. Why? Look at your GPU and Monitor combo. Your GPU is gonna have a heart attack trying to run games at the monitor's native resolution (refering to demanding games). Also you don't need a 500W PSU for a system like that. Unless you plan to upgrade the GPU in the future.
I rate your PC a 7/10
Your computer is good for todays games imho. If, in a few years, you find your computer to struggle with future games then you can always get a new video card.

I had no idea your monitor could effect the gameply. But then again i suppose it would have to pump out a whole lot more pixels wouldnt it? So what would i do, just turn down my resolution on my games?
Turn the resolution down and see if that helps. Your computer is pretty good. The dual core processor is very powerful. How fast is your ram do you know? For example mine is DDR 2100.(Like 233 mhz or something) Yours might be DDR 2 and more faster. It is important but not too important. Here is some info on memory.http://www.crucial.com/crucial/pvtcontent/memorytype.asp?memtype=CHOOSEYou can find out your speed by running at test from them for free.If you ever buy Bioshock or Assasin's Creed it would be nice to know how well you run those games. If they lag too much you could just upgrade to a more powerful video card and your problem would be solved.I happen to have the same video card as you from Sapphire and it being AGP. Is yours AGP or PCI- Express? PCI-E is faster than AGP.Anyway you should be fine. Make sure to do maintenance like clean it out every 6 months with an air pressure can. Defragment, anti virus free at (free.grisoft.com), and spyware killer free at www.lavasoftusa.comHere is the memory scanner I was talking about. It's free and safe.http://www.crucial.com/index.asp

I've heard that that game wasn't very optimized at it's time.
