question regarding integrated graphics
are most integrated graphics chips basically the same, or are there integrated graphics chips with that perform better than others?
yes there are some that will be better than others but that is for basic apps like web browsing and word docs and internet vids. if you spend $100 on a graphics card you will see improvements. question regarding integrated graphics
I swore off integrated graphics years ago for obvious reasons. Namely lack of OpenGL support for most of my favorite emulators.
are most integrated graphics chips basically the same, or are there integrated graphics chips with that perform better than others?
At the very simplest level, if it's Intel or SiS, it's crap. If it's S3/Via, it's ''maybe not totally awful crap''. On top of the heap, fully deodorized, we have ''waste product'' with the ATI and nVidia labels on it. This category is far better than Intel, and in fact it amounts to an equal level to that offered by the $65-75 price range of cheap add-in cards (and is better, IMO, than any card running through the old plain PCI bus). Which doesn't mean any practical use for game playing.
are most integrated graphics chips basically the same, or are there integrated graphics chips with that perform better than others?
the ati and nvida ones are 1000x better than intels. the nvidia 6 series intergrated gpu was ok for its time as is the radeon xpress, but intel is useless at gaming and often has graphical problems due to lack of features that the game needs
Yeah the ATi express ones are the cream of the crap.
how much would it hurt PC manufacturers to put a real 5 or 6 series card in a CPU?they cost like $40 at ****ing Wal-mart...
Imo there all the same... complete udder crap. Do not even think of getting one for gaming you will be very dissapointed.
how much would it hurt PC manufacturers to put a real 5 or 6 series card in a CPU?they cost like $40 at ****ing Wal-mart...
well there are board with 6200 intergrated, but the think is it would make the board cost a lot more and most people wouldn't use it. whats the big deal about spending $50 for m/b and $75 for a decent gpu instead of $150 for a slightly better motherboard?
From what I've seen lately (and I'm only including the ones that I know about) here they are from best to worst:Radeon X1250Nvidia 6100/6150Intel GMA X3000Radeon Xpress 200 integratedIntel GMA 950SiS integratedVia integrated
i have SiS... no wonder CSS doesn't work xD
There is a large difference between integrated chipsets, especially when you consider laptop chipsets as well. That said, none come close to the better desktop cards.
