I made a Bet with my Dad

his rig is:Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz LGA 775 Processor 2gigs of RAMPNY VCG76512SXPB GeForce 7600GS 512MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card He made a bet with me. The bet was, if he can run Crysis smoothly in that rig, WITHOUT changing any settings after it is installed (it will automatically change its setting to fit with the PC), no lag, no loss of FPS, i will fork over all my money to him... which is over $200. But if i win, he will buy me:Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 ProcessorASUS P5N-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel MotherboardA-DATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop MemoryEVGA 320-P2-N815-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500 ATX12V 500W Power Supply 115/230 V TUV, UL, CUL, CE, CB, FCC The question is, who will most likely win?I made a Bet with my Dad
hmm. he's probably gonna win because surely crysis will just lower its settings to work on his computerlife lesson #1, DONT GAMBLE YOUR MONEY AWAY!!!I made a Bet with my Dad
If it runs smooth... why would you want a new PC?It should, btw. Not sure about that graphics card though.
I have a feeling he is going to win.

lol ok
You're screwed, man. That's not a bad computer at all; it will surely run the game on at least low.
If it runs smooth... why would you want a new PC?It should, btw. Not sure about that graphics card though.
Because it may very well run smooth at 640x480 with all setting in low. And it will look like a N64 game.
you should win the bet easy the bet isn't run the game on max its run the game on the settings the game picks out for your so the game should pick out the settings that match whats best for your card which is probaly low-medium so you have a very good chance of winning because it will be set to what it can do plus the rest of your rig is good
thats a bad video card.....try putting your screen res really high before hand to see it the game matches it lol

I'm going to go with your dad on this one. The settings will probably start pretty low.
its funny i have almost the exact rig your dad would buy you....just better mwahaha
on ultra low settings, i'm sure cyrsis will run on that pc....sorry.
what if it sets to medium with a resolution of 1280x1024.when he got far cry with P4, ATI x1300 pro 256mb, and like 1 gig of ram. it automatcally set to medium-high, and it lagged like hell
I've got nearly the exact same parts you want for you're computer but with you're dad's 7600GT on it with watercooling for the Core 2 Duo but not the 7600GT (reason why is the water cooling was a precaution for Dx10 cards when I built the PC 4 months ago but ATi was more than dissapointing despite the wait and I have a 7600GT because it is cheap and kick as* for a DX9 card for the price. Best value for money until you have a DX10 card). Anyway, my pc runs all games smoothly. Company of Heroes, Supreme Commander, World in Conlict Closed Beta, BF2, BF2142, FEAR, Medieval 2 and Total War Rome, Dawn of War series, JTF all installed with medium or medium-HIGH settings and high physics, lots of units with high lighting, shading and pixels is the order of the day with anti-aliasing at 4x or 8x atleast and even so, I bump up the graphics from the medium high to 1280x1024 and high or maximum this and that on a Samsung SynMaster 931c 19'' World Cyber Games 2006 Special Edition monitor ;) Depends what I increase obviously, don't want to burn the card and no sweat, the graphics card stays between the normal average of 50'C-60'C with only minor fps sacrifise compared to bigger cards and for some reason the fps loss doesn't seem to make a difference in visuals (accurately tested for the demanding COH as it tells you the EXACT fps you get with different settings tested). You're dead dude :P Crytek has said again and again and again that they're made very sure that Crysis runs smoothly for DX9. It'll easily compensate to medium graphics and you're dad can bump some things up I believe. Though ofcourse there will be downgrades for such a great game, they won't be so bad as to make you're dad lose. You're dad's a smart man. As the guy above mentioned for Life Lesson #2, it's very true. Old age and treachery will plenty of times defeat youth and vigour :P Reminds me of the bets I trick my younger sister into which is so obviously one-sided to old age, her youth blinds her to it. Just life my friend. Sorry to be frank, but you might as well kiss those sweet dreams of a free gaming computer goodbye :( Just one last thing, it's a very good build though. Smart choices for parts, just not so smart for the betting :P lol
LAGGED on X1300 ?????I played far cry 2 years bak on my ATI 9600 ( 1024 x 800 ) resolution and grafix were set to VERY HIGH. the game worked smooth ( dont know the frames )Even now i m playin HALF LIFE 2 on HIGH settings ( 800 x 640 ) resoluton , 4x AA . 4 x AFbut i think u r gonna win the bet..
