What is supposed to go up against the 8800gts 320mb version, the HD 2600xt or something????
no idea. so far, the high end/cheapass gamer has no choice in the matter:(8800gts 320MB vs ........................
HD 2600XT against 8600GTSHD 2600Pro against 8600GT
ok......so nothing is matching the 8800gts 320mb right now? and btw if you live in the us, please give me the name of a store where you can buy pc parts...
Well originally the R600 UFO, 2900XL/GT, was suppose to go up against the 320mb GTS but the UFO card turned into the HD2900XT, so currently nothing...A highly overclocked HD2600xt might be able to touch a stock 320mb GTS but it would probably take a clockspeed of close to 1ghz.The main competition of the 320mb GTS is the RV670 coming September-ish. It should be on 65 or 55nm, hopefully hitting in the area of 900-1000mhz, 256mb interface, 256/512mb DDR3/DDR4, (hopefully) at least 64 shaders and with a power consumption of around ~100-120w.Probably priced around $250-$300.
ok

I think the X2600 series will be the 88GTS 320mb counterpart. The X2400's will compete with the 8600's :P :)
Doubt that. The 2600s aren't looking too impressive.

Where are the benchies I havent seen any tho im not really tracking them :( Plus if there not out then obviously the drivers arent too great anyway. The X2900XT Still needs good drivers!
The 2900XT already has pretty decent drivers, it outperforms the 8800GTS 640MB for the most part. The 2600s aren't impressive spec-wise either.. since they are designed like the 2900XT, they only have 24 stream processors that are used.
Oh I see. Well I havent read much about em cause im waiting for the X3k series / 9k series! Do you think I can run one on my PSU? Cause the 9800GTX will use 1tf or somthing like that. That just sounds like a power hog lol
nVidia claims that the 9800GTX will deliver 1 Teraflop of computing performance, not that it'll use 1kW of energy.Creating a video card that uses 1kW of energy would be full of pure stupidity.

Yea, im not planning on SLi so I think im good for awile with my 750w lol
I don't think that a highly OCed HD 2600XT able to touch a stock 320MB GTS
We shall see...Benching-wise the HD2600xt is going to be a beast with a pci-e2.0 compliant board... I'm expecting some 1.4-1.5ghz on the core with LN2. The card is using ~60w and with 150w at it's disposal, it would be a shame for it to not hit those speeds.
