Make sure he has the proper SLI drivers and the latest game patch.Help BF2142 artifacts!! + pics
This is definitely driver related. If it was from overheating the artifacts would be much more extreme.
yeah its the drivers, man so thats how the game looks on high huh :)
2 things, does he overclock or did he recently upgrade to Vista
2 things, does he overclock or did he recently upgrade to Vista
No to both, i'll tell him about the drivers, but could someone please help me out with a link to proper 7900 SLI drivers. And THANK YOU FOR THE QUICK REPLIES!!! =DEDIT: actually those pics were from when he took out one videocard, and he has the latest drivers. ( but i don't know about the sLI drivers??)
I don't know, I thought I saw sli drivers somewhere.
Oh and, he told me he played Tomb Raider Anniversary with no problems.Edit: i have a 6800GT and i play BF2142 fine with the latest drivers
*BUMP*also, i just found out he has 4 GB of ram, would that affect anything? he uses XP SP2
Yeah, that looks like a driver related problem. Just to be safe though, make sure that cards are being kept cool enough. This is just a hunch, but try taking 2GB of RAM out of the system. He uses 32 bit XP Pro, right?

okay we fixed it i think, it looks okay now.he changed his resolution to 800x600 from his 1600x1400 and then we moved up to 1024x768he has a good viewsonic monitor, what's the problem?! there is also no 1280x1024 in bf2142 =\800x600 + 1024x768 works without artifacts thanks all, but any thoughts on why he can't use 1600x1400(i think that's the number)
bump?^^^^sooo... what do you guys think is the problem? =\
does the moniter support the resolution, iam pretty sure it does. just check
To run bf2142 in 1280x1024 just go to the command line argument in the shortcut. It should say ''+fullscreen 1'' and some other stuff, including the path to the .exe. Just at the end, type ''+szx 1280 +szy 1024'' without quotes, and it should run at 1280x1024 as long as u dont change the ingame video settings again.
I've experienced something similar with my 7900GT
Of course the monitor supports it, he wouldn't be able to START the game and BF2142 only shows the resolution in the options that you can USE.Thanks for the tip Baselerd.and Khaine, do you still have the problem? or try using different resolutions
Yup, I still have the problem, and it's not only occuring in BF2142, but in other games as well. Another problem is small red and blue dots coming up on my monitor when I'm not playing games, and I know it sounds like some pixel error on my monitor (Samsung 226BW), but I've tried to connect it to my brothers PC and there's no flaws whatsoever to detect there. So I guess there's either something wrong with my drivers or the card itself. Good thing I'm upgrading soon :)
