Need some help buying RAM

Hey guys, I need some help in buying some RAM because I know very little about it. Recently, I bought another harddrive because I thought that was the issue that is causing my PC to go unstable. Unfortuantely, it was not my harddrive. I am currently running Memtest 86 on it, and t currently says that I have over +205,000 errors with 2 passes :|... it doesn't take a genius to figure out that I indeed have a RAM problem. A part of me want to stop the process because it is rather useless, but the other part of me want to really see how messed up my RAM really is. So because I don't know much about RAM, I am looking for help here. Here is my Motherboard:MSIAnd here is the selection from Newegg for DDR2 533's:NeweggI don't know if I can trust ''Value'' RAM anymore, so unless there is a good reason for me to get it, please refrain from suggesting it. I am interested in a set of RAM that is reliable and great for gaming and for leaving on the PC overnight for torrent usage. As seen on Newegg, I can only imagine that Desktop ram is used for general RAM usage, but I am not totally sure of what system RAM is.Perhaps that RAM is specialized for running the background applications on the PC? If it is, how can I utilize the system RAM.I'd greatly appreciate the suggestions.Need some help buying RAM
go with the 3rd one on the list the crosair ram they make great ram Need some help buying RAM
Any of those are fine, most likely the PC mfr. went with uber cheapo generic RAM.
Go with the G.Skill Extreme, IMO.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231041
Does anyone know about how the timing affects the RAM and what is the optimal timings? I am probably going to buy the dual channel 2x1GB Value Corsair RAM because I can not find any better RAM. I really do not want to buy Value RAM, because it has crapped out on me before.Currently... Memtest86 is 11 hours in and I have recieve over a million errors with about 15 passes. Is the program suppose to last this long? This is ridiculous.
I always believe in buying value RAM if you don't plan to overclock. If you don't overclock, why spend all that money? Enthusiast memory are for overclockers, people who know what they're doing.Don't worry about timmings and such, if all you're gonna do is install your RAMs and do nothing afterwards.Just get what ever RAMs you can afford to get your system working properley again.
