I must admit I have a hard time believing this is actually true. Why would they get rid of a CPU like the E6600 for example, which isn't even being used to its full potential today?X6800, E6600, E6700, E6300 dies in Q1 08
So what is going to happen to people with only fsb of 1066, will there still be knew cpus
Thats why I stay with AMD CPUs They last longer and they dont change to much when the wind blows.
Penryn should be out by then. -_-
This isn't true
Yea, how does anyone take this seriously? If this was announced, you would see it everywhere and on a lot more reliable sites. Thats garbage.
This article is complete BS. First of all most games today dont even take full advantage of core 2 duos. Just think how long it will take for us to take full advantage of quad core. Also weres the source to which they got this article from???? Even then i could care less because you can get a P35 mobo that supports the new 45nm processors. If you by a CD2 or even a quad core you should have no problem running any game for quite some time.

the news is true, but its old news and is on a lot of other sites already. they are going to stop selling all of those and then replace them with the E6850, E6750, E6650, and the E6550. they are going to keep the QX6800 and the Q6600 tho. all the processors that are E**50 have a 1333 FSB. so yes, the news is true.
The article doesn't even bother with good spelling and grammar, somehow I really doubt this.
Pentium 4 FTW :P

I have a hard time believing this isn't true.
Why would they keep 1066 C2D's going when they are moving onto a 1333 FSB?It's not like there aren't going to be any in Q1, it just means that Intel won't be making anymore...
They are moving onto 45nm anyways.

They are moving onto 45nm anyways.
Exactly. Some of you converted AMD fans need to learn a thing or two as to how Intel operates. Surely you observed them during the NetBurst era where they converted all CPUs to a higher bus speed/production shrink.
I actually belive this article. And that doesnt mean that E6600... wont be able to run games in 2008 decently. You who are saying that are missunderstod.I guess it will be time to upgrade early next year. Again. :(
Why would they ditch them when they're still making P4s? :?
Why would they ditch them when they're still making P4s? :?
I'm pretty sure they aren't still making P4...
