I dont even think they will come, 9 series seems to be nvidia's next release
We haven't even got an 8900GTX or an 8950 GTX/GX2 and we're already talking about the 9 series?

I hope that the 8900 series doesn't cost $700 U.S.D.

Oh wait, you don't...Edit- I'm not saying there will be but there is a chance.

Wont be a 8900 series..
8900, 9000, RSPT. What ever the next series is called. I'll be 2 generations behind, so I guess it does not matter.

Its not rumour any more its fact, if Nvidia was going to make a 8900 then they would have to have started manufacturing them along time ago. The 9 series is coming out in 4.5 months not enough time to manufacture, show the public and release a 8900. That would give them like 3 months of being out before the 9 series hits. and besides a 8800 ultra can max any game in its sleep so there is no need for any thing better from the 8 series now.
any guesses on what the 9000 series spec will looke like?

One teraflop is all we know. The 8800GTX can throw out like 330Giga flops so its like 3x more powerfull

I'm not saying it is going to happen, I am simply just saying it is possible.

any guesses on what the 9000 series spec will looke like?
One teraflop is all we know. There are too many factors to even try and get an accurate measurement.G80 does some 300GFlops, if it actually had it's missing MUL it could do some 500GFlops.
The G92, about 1TFlop statement could mean MAD+MUL meaning it isn't too big of a deal. Now if that ~1TFlop was pure scalar, that would be ridiculous.
Also to think ~3x the floating point performance = 3x the gaming performance is not a very smart thing to do. *points at the R600*Now here is my guess on the specs.65nm
256 shaders
~800mhz core
2.2-2.4ghz mem
1.8-2.2ghz shader
320mb interface (maybe 512mb)
768-1024mb DDR4
