anybody else have good suggestions
I have a Gateway 19 in widescreen that i got at walmart for 150. It is great. I looked on gateway's website and they have it listed as 250. I guess walmart was just feeling generous...
Do you have a budget for the monitor?I'd recommend this Acer 19'' Widescreen.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009091Also, if you care about image quality, vivid colors, and good viewing angles.. then I'd avoid a monitor with the following viewing angles.Viewing Angle: 160?H) / 160?V) This means that the monitor uses a crappy TN panel. =/

I got a 21'' samsung 940bw for $200 and its really nice. never had any trouble and no drivers.
Have you ever looked your monitor from the side? And then compared it to how it looked when you look at it from the front?

TN panels have the image much darker than usual when seen from the side or from above, colors seem vivid but the manufacturers really just reproduce and use tricks to show all the colors (TN panels can only show like 250,000 colors I believe.. don't recall the exact number). But as long as you're happy with it.. plus most consumers don't really notice the flaws. :)
Im generally looking for a 19'' LCD that displays as close as possible to true black and has that ''Pure Digital'' look. Also deep crisp colors and none of that ''white layer'' over the screen. Also is Dynamic Contrast ratio any good?
