I am looking at buying a new card for my computer with the upcoming release of Quake Wars amongst other games. I am most probably going to buy the EVGA 8800GTS. I was just wondered whether my CPU is good enough? Will it bottleneck the power of the new card? Also, my power supply is 600W which I assume is good enough? If I have to replace the CPU I was going to go for either the AMD 64 X2 4800+ or the AMD FX-60. My motherboard is socket 939 and im not in the market for a new one aswel as a card and cpu. My computer is in my sig. Thanks in adance. New Graphics Card
Eh, you will be fine, the 4000+ is still pretty nice.New Graphics Card
your PSU
12V rail must support 26 Ampere or more for the8800 GTS
for the GTX it needs to be 30 Ampere
FSP Epsilon 600W Active SLi PSU is a lot more than enough for either of those cards.
LOL his PSU is a SLI certified
SLi certified doesn't always mean it's a great power supply. But yeah, his FSP Group 600W is definitely good enough.
get the fx 60, it is a great cpu

Ok, thanks for the great response guys. If I buy a new 939 CPU, il be ordering it on Ebay so getting hold of one is not really a problem. Any more ideas or opinions? The AMD 64 4000+ is a bit dated now. It is going for around ?5 so I really want to replace it with dual-core considering this is the direction games are going.
Well if your going to go with dual core, then don't go any lower than a X2 4400+.
