ok,, i have a 17 inch lcd monitor/tv,, it runs 720 p ,, and i'm just wondering how much of a difference will i see if i get a 22 inch lcd or something and play games at a higher resolution???i know obviously there is a difference, but will it make a game look alot better? eg, will crysis look ordinary on my current display and unlike the videos released???by the way, my pc specs are pretty good, i have an e6600, and g80card, with 2 gig ddr2 ram, so in conclution, i would like people try and sell me reasons why i should get a new monitor for higher rez gaming,, or why i shouldnt bother,,,what is in the resolutions
Of course a higher resolution is going to improve the visuals and you will not notice the jaggies at say 1600x1200 then you will at 1280x1024, of course thats gonna put more stress on your system but your 8 series GPU should be able to handle it alrightwhat is in the resolutions
I've seen the difference between two different resolutions, one being 1360x768 and the other being 1920x1080. To me it wasn't nearly amazing enough to fork over more money for a new monitor. So I just decided to stick with what I got, games still look amazing, clear, and I can't complain about my 3000:1 contrast ratio.
ok cool, well since i have never experienced games with any other resolution couldnt help feel that i was somehow left behind and not really being exposed to a games full potential. i dont mind sticking with lower resolution if it means i experience a few more jaggies or what not, but what i am concerned about is if at a higher resolution textures become more realistic, ie, when i was playin call of juarez i zoomed in on the trees and it looks kinda fake and blurred, ps,, i'm on the max settings,,,,but watching a demo video prior, when there was commentary about the games features, it said realstic textures or something of that nature and showed a tree, and it looked alot more realistic,,, just wondering if i do play with higher resolution, will materials and things look better graphically or will it be more comparable to upscaling an image,, ie, u cant improve apon the source output,,
Sharper maybe, more pixels but texture quality won't improve. Really depends on your monitor if you got a cheaper 17'' a new 22'' would be a big improvement. Mine's pretty nice so that's why I wasn't blown away by those huge monitors. lol
yeah i'm not after a huge monitor either,, i had a samsung hd 32 inch tv, and it wasnt much better, it was too big i couldnt see properly,
